Our Story

From a deep love for specialty coffee to a roastery in the heart of Kansas City — this is the journey behind every cup of Provis.

How It Started

Founded on passion & purpose

Provis Coffee Roasters was born from a simple belief: that great coffee can be an everyday luxury. What started as an obsession with sourcing and roasting the perfect bean grew into something much bigger.

The name “Provis” draws from the Latin word for provision and supply. It reflects our founding promise: to provide the very best coffee we can find, roast it with intention, and deliver it to the people who appreciate it most.

Every bag that leaves our roastery carries that promise. We work directly with farms, roast in small batches, and never cut corners.

The Badge

The dog & crown

At the center of our badge stands a heraldic pointer dog, carrying a flag and crowned with purpose. The pointer is a breed known for its unwavering focus and instinct to find what others overlook.

For us, the pointer represents the relentless pursuit of quality. From the farms where our beans are grown to the cup that reaches your hands, we are always seeking, always refining, always pointing toward something better.

The crown above symbolizes the nobility of craft — the idea that dedication to a process, however humble, deserves to be honored.

Our Process

01

Sourcing

We partner directly with farms and cooperatives across Latin America, East Africa, and Southeast Asia. Every lot is selected for its character, traceability, and care.

02

Roasting

Every batch is roasted in small lots at our Kansas City roastery. We develop unique profiles for each origin, coaxing out the flavors that make every coffee distinct.

03

Community

From our cafe to your cup, everything we do is about connection. Great coffee brings people together — we are proud to be part of the Kansas City community.

Come say hello

Whether you visit us at the cafe or brew our beans at home, we would love to share what we do with you.
